Flank Steak and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients

Steak

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Sauce

  • 1/3 cup tamari or coconut aminos
  • 1/3 cup bone broth
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot flour or starch
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • For serving: cooked rice sesame seeds, green onion

Instructions

  • Put your steak in the freezer for 30-45 minutes to make it easier to slice. Once ready, cut into thin, 1/4 inch slices Whisk together your sauce ingredients and set aside
  • Heat 1 tbsp avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  • Add your broccoli and cook, covered, for 5 minutes Remove broccoli from the skillet and raise the heat to medium high
  • Add another tbsp of avocado oil
  • Add your beef to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 2 minutes on each side
  • Turn your heat down to medium low and add your sauce
  • Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken then add your broccoli and toss to coat
  • Remove from heat and serve over rice with a garnish of sesame seeds and green onion.
