I love teaching financial literacy and introducing women to the basics of investing. Over the years, as I guided clients and others through concepts of savings, portfolios, and growth, I realized something important: while these topics are essential, they are only part of the picture. Women need a space to explore the broader, interconnected dimensions of their lives — including health, relationships, caregiving, estate planning, and aging — and how these intersect with financial choices and personal meaning.

This realization inspired the Granite Women’s Powership Symposium — a space to move beyond financial literacy and explore the holistic picture of women’s lives, helping them connect money to purpose, values, and agency.

Why These Conversations Matter

Over the years, I’ve had countless conversations with women — brilliant, capable, and generous — who often feel hesitant to talk about money. Many feel “behind,” “unprepared,” or that they “should already know this.”

It’s not a lack of ability that holds us back — it’s a lack of space. Most of us were never invited to explore these topics openly, especially in connection with the bigger picture of our lives. Money, health, relationships, and legacy are deeply intertwined.

The Powership Symposium creates a space to surface these connections, move from knowledge to insight, and turn insight into action.

What Powership Means

“Powership” is where empowerment meets leadership. It’s about stepping into your seat at the table — not with force, but with clarity, courage, and connection.

Real power is relational. It shows up in how we act, connect, and shape outcomes — in our families, our work, and our communities.

Embracing powership transforms fear into curiosity, hesitation into dialogue, and uncertainty into alignment. Money becomes a reflection of our values in motion, not a source of stress.

From Conversations to a Movement

What began in 2024 as a single gathering has grown into a vibrant movement. The inaugural Granite Women’s Powership Symposium laid the foundation for a new kind of conversation — one that connects financial literacy to the deeper dimensions of women’s lives. Building on that momentum, the 2025 edition expanded the dialogue, exploring themes of health, relationships, legacy, and caregiving with even greater depth and community engagement.

Now, as we look ahead, we will launch the Powership Podcast, a dynamic platform designed to continue these essential conversations, share real stories, and amplify women’s voices around money, meaning, and leadership. The upcoming 2026 Granite Women’s Powership Symposium will further this evolution, welcoming new perspectives and deepening our collective understanding of what it means to live with financial clarity, purpose, and agency.

Financial literacy is just the starting point. The true goal is to redefine wealth as something living, expansive, and deeply human.

When women claim powership — grounded, values-aligned, and whole — the ripple effect is enormous: families thrive, communities rise, and leadership becomes more thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable.

This is powership: powerfully realized, shared, and multiplied. And this is only the beginning.
