I buy, receive and try a lot of different things in the course of a month. Probably more than most people you know and definitely more than is necessary. However, it is my job to know what’s going on in the world of wellness, beauty and fashion and I’m here for it!
We decided it was time to do a monthly review series, where I round up the things I have been gifted, purchased and tried within that month and let you know what’s worth trying and purchasing and what you should pass on. Blume Stargirl Hydrating Glowy Skin Toning Mist
I am a big fan of face mists and glowy, dewy skin so when I saw this product, I wanted to try it. I am happy I did, it’s a great mist, very hydrating and refreshing to use throughout the day. I am not overly blown away by It but it does what it says it will do and I enjoy using it. I have been wanting to try things from this product line, this was my first item so I will continue to try things and let you know.

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask
This product was sent to me in a PR package, I was hesitant to try it because most of Glow Recipe’s products have been disappointing for me but I still thought id give it a go. I used it overnight as directed and woke up to puffy eyes, this product wasn’t a match for me and I don’t plan to try it or use it again. I did see some great reviews online so maybe it’s just me.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil SPF 45 Body Butter
I was beyond excited to try this product because Josie Maran makes my favorite SPF for the face and they also make my favorite body butter so I figured this is going to be a match made in heaven for me. I was right, this SPF is exactly what I have been looking for and I am hooked! It’s super moisturizing, obviously protects from the harmful rays of the sun using mineral protection and leaves skin looking radiant and glowy. This is my new summer staple. Oh, and no white cast!

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial
I kept seeing this product on The Skinny Confidential’s Instagram and she was raving about it so of course, I had to try it for myself. Other than the fact that it does soften my skin I was totally underwhelmed by this product and felt for the price it is just not worth it. Something else that bothered me about this product was the packaging, when I spend this type of money on a product, I think the packaging should match, which it didn’t. I found the packaging really cheapy, I also got hit with high duties coming into Canada.

Fenty Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer (Color Hunnie Glaze)
I am always on the fence when it comes to cream bronzers but my sisters told me I HAD to try this product so of course, I ordered it. They were right, it’s really good. I use it on my contour areas and you literally look like you just came back from vacation. The finish and color is beautiful and natural. I also love using cream products in the summer because I find they look more natural in the sun!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir
This was sent to me in a PR package and I love all things Charlotte Tilbury, this is a great product and really plumps up the lips and hydrates. I like to wear this to bed and wake up with my lips super soft and plump! I do find the product applicator could be better and sometimes it’s hard to get product out of the tube.

Two Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Ok, I know I’m really late to the party but I have been wearing lash extensions for 5 years and have recently re-entered the wonderful world of mascara. This is a cult favorite so I had to try it and wow, it’s really good. I did get mixed reviews from my audience but I wanted to see for myself and I am very happy with this mascara and will be repurchasing it! I find it makes my lashes look longer, curled and full. No clumping and stays on really nicely.

Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water
Whenever Drunk Elephant has a new product launch, I NEED to try it. I also use micellar water daily to remove my eye makeup so I was excited. Sadly, this product was a little disappointing, I tried it all over my face to remove makeup and just on the eyes and found it to be underwhelming. I found I needed to use a lot of product and even then I needed to use a second round to really remove the makeup. There are much better options for a fraction of the price. Kudos on the packaging though, DE always kills it!

Huda Beauty Silk Balm Hydrating and Nourishing Lip Balm
As many of you know, I am a lip gloss addict and need to try them all, this one looked great so I purchased and am happy I did! It’s super moisturizing, glossy, not sticky, has a hint of color and stays on well. The only downside is that I found I went through this quite quickly and would have liked there to be more product in the tube. Will definitely be repurchasing.

Charlotte Tilbury Lightweight Magic Cream Moisturizer
I am a big fan of Charlotte’s OG Magic cream so I was very excited about this product because her Magic Cream is on the heavier side. This product is good but not great and I wouldn’t purchase again, I much prefer the original Magic Cream. This product also oddly makes my eyes tear which is really irritating. It does leave a nice finish on the skin before a makeup application though.
