I am notorious for overpacking and being a little OVER-prepared for flights and travel, so it should come as no surprise that when I fly, I have a whole kit that comes with me. When you’re on an airplane you are basically in a box of recirculated air, which means lots of other people’s germs and smells. It is also extremely dry and can cause our skin, lips and eyes to be dehydrated… And in my case, breakout. Here are a few things I can’t fly without.
Sanitizing Mist
This is a must have when travelling because a few sprays and it cleanses the area you’re in. It can also be used on hands to sanitize, helps with unwanted odours and is amazing for phones, iPads and laptops to kill the germs and bacteria that may be creeping around. You can also use this on the plane seats, trays, etc to keep things extra clean.
Healthy Snacks
It’s always good to have a healthy treat on hand when flying, the last thing you want is to be starving and stuck with the unhealthy options the plane has to offer. Plan ahead and bring a bar, a fruit or some veggies. Check out my snack options HERE.
Face Wipes
Depending on the duration of the flight, I always like to have a face wipe on me. Often, I will remove any makeup before take-off so my skin is clean and less prone to breakouts. I sometimes use the face wipes as soon as I get off the plane to remove any dirt and bacteria that collected on my skin in flight. I love to take a single pack wipe for one-time use.
Moisture Stick
This is a major must have for me, airplanes are drier than the driest desert (that may be a little dramatic, but I am who I am). Having a moisture stick is amazing because you can simply apply it to the eyes, lips, cheeks without having to touch your face with your probably dirty hands.
Essential Oil Rollers
This is something I have been doing more recently and it’s a game changer for travel. I love using essential oils under my feet (this is a great place to apply essential oils) before takeoff to help boost my immune system and fight off any unwanted bacteria that may cause me to get sick. If you are a nervous traveller, you can even use oils like lavender to help relax you.
Phone Charger
Nowadays many planes have outlets at your seat to charge your phone, but you also just never know and it’s important to stay entertained and keep your phone battery alive.
Hand Cream, Lip Balm & Face Mist
As mentioned earlier, keeping everything moisturized is high up on my priority list when flying, my husband would like to kill me because I am constantly applying something, and it drives him crazy. I always have a good hand cream, lip balm and definitely a hydrating face mist close by.
Ugg Travel Set
I have never been a neck pillow girl, but this travel set is LIFE! It has a full-size blanket that is the softest ever and an eye mask that is lash extension safe! Sometimes I keep it stuffed with the blanket and just use it as a pillow. I can’t travel without it; it also makes a great gift.
These are my top essentials for flying but I always love knowing what you guys use and swear by so let me know in the comments if I’m missing out on something clutch. Safe travels today. It’s time to get back to work.
