As we head into week 10 of physical distancing, we’ve developed some new habits, discovered new workouts, read new books and watched more TikToks! Here’s an update on what we’ve been loving during this time.
Katherine’s Recommendations
NEW RITUALS:
I have been obsessed with my new morning ritual of opening up windows, putting some oils into my diffuser, lighting candles and playing some music. I have been taking an extra 20-30 minutes to cut up fresh fruit and veggies for that day and just have that time to myself before getting on camera.
In the evening before bed I have started to do a 5-10 minute stretching routine that I will share soon on the site. This has helped me sleep deeper and longer and also aids with digestion. In the morning I notice myself feeling less swollen and feel so much more rested.
WORKOUTS:
I am still doing many of the accounts I mentioned last time, like @gabigarbarino @vanessaconstanzo @melissawoodhealth and @jonchaimberg and @maddyjovani but have added some others to my roaster. I have also been going on really long walks some days and enjoy going up to the mountain and getting fresh air. I truly believe there is nothing better than walking.
I got a spin bike so I follow along with @cadence_cycle on his prerecorded lives and do 45 mins 2-3 times a week. Depending how I am feeling.
@pilatesnoir– this is my pilates studio here in Montreal. I am completely obsessed and it’s my favourite workout. Stefanie, the owner has been doing at least 1 live a week, sometimes 2 and they are incredible. You can follow them on IG for more info on when she will be live etc… It is challenging but doable and very effective.
@stacylelfitness I absolutely love Stacey’s workouts, she is in amazing shape and does a barre/ Hiit style workout every week day at 12pm. We also have been doing LIVE workouts together every Thursday. This week we have one at 9am EST.
@samiclarke I love Sami’s workouts, they are challenging but not advanced so they are doable for any fitness level. She has a ton of quick workouts available on her page and when I’m not sure what to do I always go and check out her page for Inspiration.

Emma’s Recommendations
I’m an avid reader, as you may have learned from the GLW Instagram account. I’m currently in the middle of Untamed by Glennon Doyle and I’m hooked. Intimate memoir of a woman’s wake-up call. Should definitely add it to your To Read pile. A few other books I’ve finished these past few weeks are:
- The Selection, books 1,2 & 3 by Kiera Cass. This genre is not normally my type but this story is being turned into a Netflix series and I’m one of those that has to read the book first before seeing the movie or tv series. I flew through the first 3 of these books in a matter of days. I still have books 4 and 5 of this series to read, those are set 20 years into the future. It’s a combination of the Bachelor meets the Hunger Games.
- Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson. I love psychological thrillers. I had packed this in my suitcase back in December when I went to Florida, but didn’t get around to readying it. I brought 3 other books with me and got to those first. This is definitely my genre of choice. The twists and turns, not knowing who did it or what’s going to happen next. This is definitely a page turner.
- Audrey – Her Real Story by Alexander Walker. I’ve always admired Audrey Hepburn. Her grace and poise. Her contribution to society and her selflessness. My favourite quote by her is; “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others”. This biography digs deeper into her wartime and about her parents.
- Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The whole time I was reading this I felt as if it was a true story. This had to have happened. Sadly, I was wrong. There are many inspirations for the events that take place in this book. It shows you a deep connection for music in the 70’s. What happened during that time with bandmates and when out on tour. The only music appropriate to listen to after reading this; Fleetwood Mac. I was convinced Daisy Jones was inspired by Stevie Nicks. Read it and tell me what you think.
