Back to the Office? I never thought I’d hear the day. Time to say goodbye to pyjamas and sweatpants. And debating whether you should post that coffee recipe on TikTok that could make you go viral. Going back to work after a year and a half could mean different things for each of us. Perhaps a hybrid work environment of being in the office a couple days a week, school classes or both. With Summer slipping away so quickly, we should be savouring those last moments of swim and sun, not stressing about what to wear. So let’s tackle the question now – what do I wear to the office?

Even if you’re just going to the office to take multiple coffee breaks to catch up with colleagues irl, rely on the next 5 looks for workwear inspo that goes perfectly with your fresh Mykonos tan.

A blazer & jeans

A true wardrobe essential that works overtime. This Zara blazer is unique with the shoulders designed slightly oversized and the waist is cinched allowing you to not only feel empowered but make a style statement. Notice how the full length jeans in bootcut and straight styles have come back. These are the lengths adding that cool factor to the overall look.

A Knit Dress

Take the blazer we just discussed and layer over a neutral colored knit dress. Finish off the look with combat boots or heels for the office. The Banter Knit dress by Aritzia is my favourite pick right now not only because of the midi length and the lightweight fabric but, the fibres are biodegradable and produced through an environmentally low-impact process. Good for your wardrobe and good for the environment.

Trousers

There is a lot of hype around pant shapes this upcoming Fall season. And fair enough because a trouser can never steer you wrong as it is always two things – chic & universally flattering. These high-waisted palazzo pants (with pockets!) are perfect with a pointed boot and tank top for the transitional weather months. As the season changes, tuck in a poplin shirt and finish off the look with a statement earring.

A Satin Blouse

With our ever changing schedules, I like to have a few solid and printed blouses in my wardrobe. That way if there’s a day I need to be in the office but would also like to make it to dinner afterwards, a satin shirt styled with a dark jean is my go-to look. For a Parisian inspired look, I suggest pairing the blouse back to a satin midi skirt. This season, I’m obsessed with the clean front style with wide, dramatic sleeves like the Riley shirt from Dynamite.

A Faux Leather Pant

The effortlessly cool essence that faux leather brings to a look is unmatched. Few things are as easy as styling this fashion basic with a white tee and heel. Below, I love how Sandra Henrich styles the bermuda style with an oversized blazer. When it gets chillier, I’d opt for this wide leg faux leather pant style from HM with a chunky sweater and a python boot.

I am an editor, creative pragmatist, and visual storyteller who solves problems. Not creating, is utter devastation. I've inherently always made things, people look and feel good whether it's through mediums such as fashion, art, imagery, story telling. I'm obsessed with beauty and in Valentino's words "I love beauty. It's not my fault" I knew where I could not stand to be, and what I did not want to do, and that led me to the work I love.
