One of the major takeaways that surviving January 2021 has given me is that quick, easy routines that better my life gave me the strength to take on bigger ones.
Don’t discount the “small things”. Even completing one little task a day is a win, so run with that! These little wins add up to something great – something that can keep you smiling and give you the strength to soldier on.
Here are some routines to add to your day that will deliver positivity and wellness results.
Easy Daily Routine Number 1
Romance Yourself
I chuckle each time I write or think that (grow up, Dominique). Trust me, taking a few minutes to “love up on yourself” releases a truckload of endorphins. Find yourself a great massager such as The Womanizer and We Vibe Unite which are crowd favourites guaranteed to make your toes curl.
Easy Daily Routine Number 2
Daily Affirmations
Every morning, write down a list of affirmations and repeat them out loud.
How to write a good affirmation?
- Start your affirmation with two of the most powerful words in the English language “I am”.
- Always use the present tense.
- Always keep it positive. For instance, write about what you want, not about what you don’t want.
- Keep it short, brief yet specific.
- Include emotional and action words.
- Your affirmation should be for yourself, not others.
Examples of great affirmations:
- I believe in my potential, not my past.
- I am grateful for the good in my life.
- I am giving positive things legitimacy today.
- I think only positive things about people and accept that everyone is trying their best.
Easy Daily Routine Number 3
Floss Your Teeth
No – this isn’t sponsored by your friendly, neighbourhood dentist…but the few minutes I take to floss gives me a chance to reflect on the good things that happened over the past day. Everything from the at-home yoga routine that left me feeling open, vulnerable and great, to Reese choosing to snuggle on my lap for his nap.
Oh yeah – and flossing is really great for your chompers and overall physical health too.
Easy Daily Routine Number 4
Breathe Deeply
These days are hard for everyone, and the stress is manifesting itself in a myriad of ways. If you are feeling stressed, sad, “tight” or even if you feel like you are going to outright lose it, a few deep breaths can help. Trust me.
Close your eyes and envision something that makes you happy – a wonderful memory or soothing experience/place.
Take a slow, deep breath through your nose and take your time exhaling through your mouth. Repeat until you feel better.
Hoping these tips help! Feel free to add your own easy routines in the comments. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading.
