I buy, receive and try a lot of different things in the course of a month. Probably more than most people you know and definitely more than is necessary. However, it is my job to know what’s going on in the world of wellness, beauty and fashion and I’m here for it!
We decided it was time to do a monthly review series, where I round up the things I have been gifted, purchased and tried within that month and let you know what’s worth trying and purchasing and what you should pass on. We would love your feedback on products and items you have been wanting reviewed. Please leave your suggestions in the comment section down below and we will be sure to test them out for you!
MARCH REVIEW SERIES: Purchase or Pass
Summer Fridays Super Amino Gel Cleanser
I really like this brand, all the products I have purchased are really good, so when this cleanser was released I obviously had to try it. Unfortunately it kind of fell flat for me. I don’t find it actually cleanses that well and it left my skin feeling a little tight and dry. The packaging is beautiful, but for the price tag I am just not convinced and think there are much better cleansers on the market.
RATING 2/5
Actumus Immunity Tinctures
Actumus is the brand my Naturopath, Christian Limoges started over 20 years ago. I use the cleansing drink products daily and love them. Depending on what’s going on, Christian will suggest different tinctures to me. Tinctures are made up from wild crafted herbs, that are extremely powerful at treating any sort of issue. Currently he put me on the Immune-Ton Supreme and the PR1 to boost my immune system and as prevention for Covid-19. I take these 3 times a day and all herbs inside are excellent for upper respiratory tract infections and it helps boost immunity naturally. Highly suggest these!

Pat McGrath Labs Concealer & Blurring Under Eye Corrector
I don’t love every product in PMG’s line and have actually returned more than I have kept but this concealer is really good. It’s very creamy and lightweight but provides really full coverage that doesn’t move! It also has a nice radiant finish without being too dewy, I will use this for events or when I am filming and need more coverage. Only downside here is price-point – like all PMG products they’re pricey. (colour LM10)
The blurring under eye powder is also excellent, I usually dislike under eye powders and find they actually make me look worse! This one really does even out any fine lines and sets the concealer nicely without a cakey look. (colour medium)

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask:
Caudalie recently welcomed me into their #cru, which means I get to try a ton of their amazing products. I was sent this mask, which I had been wanting to try for a while. When I finally got to try it, I have used it many times. I really love this mask, it kind of does what everyone needs once a week. Detoxes the skin, clears it up and cleans it out. It cleans out unwanted oils, dirt and bacteria and leaves skin soft, refined and clear. Definitely a new staple!
RATING 5/5
Organic Olivia Soothe Your Throat Spray:
Before all this COVID craziness started, I ordered this throat spray because I do get the occasional sore throat. I love Organic Olivia and her products so I figured this was a no brainer and it really was! I have been using 2 sprays a day as a preventative measure, this spray contains echinacea, licorice root and aloe all of which are great at fighting the virus and keeping immunity high. It also feels nice!
RATING 5/5
Kosas Color & Light Duo:
I am a big fan of Kosas. It’s a natural beauty brand that I like to use. I recently ordered this product in colour Velvet Melon and I am obsessed. First of all it’s the nicest peachy colour and the texture is so creamy and nice on the skin. It stays on so well throughout the day and really gives a nice dew to the skin. The highlight is beautiful also, I like using both on my eyelids as well for a pop of colour! I am going to order other colours as well since I love it so much.
RATING 5/5
Wilding Empress Tonic & Oil
Back in January I bought the Wildling Empress Stone and absolutely love it. I figured I needed the tonic and oil to go along with it. I really like the tonic, its super moisturizing and refreshing. The oil is also great and leaves the skin really soft and supple. The only negative is that the dropper is hard to fill with oil and I generally have to pour into my palm and end up losing some product. I will definitely be repurchasing either way.
RATING 4/5
Biologique Reserche Serum De Teinte:
I awaited this product for months and when I could finally get my hands on it I was so excited. BR is in my top 5 favourites skincare brands and this is their first makeup type product. It did not disappoint; I mix this into my SPF or even just it on its own. It blurs imperfections, protects skin from blue light and environmental stressors and is truly makeup that is skincare. It is far from a foundation but gives the skin such a nice tone and finish. Downside here is the price tag, BR is not cheap, the ingredients are worth it but it’s a lot! (I got No 3)
