There’s a certain magic to the first chill in the air, cozy layers, weekend walks, the scent of something baking in the oven. But as the temperature drops, so does your child’s skin hydration. Between the dry air outside and the heat inside, even the most perfect little cheeks can turn red, rough, or tight.

So this season, let’s add “moisturizer” to the list of winter essentials, right next to mittens and hot chocolate. Here’s how to keep their glow intact with age-appropriate picks that make skincare as sweet as it is smart.

For the Littlest Ones (0–4 years)

Moisturizing Baby Face Cream

Baby skin deserves the best, and this ultra-gentle face cream is like a hug in a jar. Infused with marine algae, grape seed oil, and shea butter, it keeps even the newest skin calm and deeply hydrated through long stroller walks and dry nursery air. It’s fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested, and designed to lock in moisture for up to 48 hours.

How to use it: Apply after bath time while their skin is still slightly damp, that’s when it absorbs best.

For the Fun Years (4–8 years)

Hydrating Body Lotion — Vanilla (or any of the fun flavours)

This is when moisturizing becomes a thing, and this lotion makes it a fun one. Lightweight, hydrating, and scented just enough to make them smile, it’s the perfect post-bath ritual. Whether you go for Vanilla, Watermelon, or Coconut, each version leaves skin baby-soft and perfectly hydrated without a greasy feel.

How to use it: Make it part of the bedtime routine, they’ll look forward to picking their “flavour” each night.

For the Almost-Grown (8–12 years)

Smooth Operator Moisturizer

This one’s for your glow-getter. Lightweight yet deeply nourishing, Smooth Operator bridges the gap between kid care and real skincare. With squalane, ceramides, and niacinamide, it hydrates, balances, and protects, without clogging pores. It’s the perfect starter moisturizer for tweens who are beginning to take pride in their own routines.

How to use it: Morning and night, just a pea-sized amount does the trick.

GLW Tips for Happy Winter Skin

  • Keep baths short and warm (not hot).
  • Apply moisturizer within two minutes of toweling off.
  • Add a humidifier to their room to combat dry air.
  • Stick to soft fabrics, friction can irritate dry skin.
  • Be consistent, little layers, twice a day, make all the difference.
