As summer winds down and the first hints of fall appear, Katherine shares the pieces she’s reaching for, the rituals she’s leaning into, and the nostalgic moods inspiring her this upcoming season.
Q: Say a couple words about August. What did this month feel like for you, how did you spend it?
A: August is usually more relaxing for me. Workwise a lot of brands are on holiday so it gives me a moment to realign and get ready for September which is always busy!
Q: What have you already bought that you can’t wait to wear? Any standout fall pieces you’re excited to style?
A: I got this insane baby pink Bottega Veneta jacket in Paris back in July so I’m really excited to wear it!
Q: Your go-to basics, what staples do you always return to when the season changes?
A: I’m still very much on a vintage levi’s vibe. Loose fit jeans, simple tank or tee and a good knit is going to be my go to!
Q: Sunglass refresh. Any new frames or favorite classics you’ll be wearing into fall?
A: I have a serious problem when it comes to sunnies… I can’t stop adding to my collection. I’m feeling rimless frames right now. I recently got a pair of chrome hearts that are so nice.
Q: How would you describe your overall fall style? Does it bring back any nostalgic feelings from growing up?
A: Its literally the best season! Who doesn’t love fall!!! So cozy, best fashion, best foods- i’m a soup girl! Yes! It’s so nostalgic. September is like girls new year- it feels like a moment for a fresh start! I will still be back and forth between Montreal and Miami so i’ll never really escape summer!
Q: What are you most excited for this fall? This could be a recipe, an activity, a trip: maybe even heading back to Palm Heights.
A: Sweater weather!!! My best friends wedding and my 10 year wedding anniversary !
Q: Beauty & wellness rituals, do you switch up your skincare, makeup, or wellness routine when the weather turns?
A: I don’t really change much but I definitely focus on more masking and hydrating products. I reapply sunscreen more in the summer months so i find myself clarifying more in the fall and then rehydrating.
Q: Mood & inspiration. What’s inspiring you right now, music, books, places, or even a feeling that’s setting the tone for fall?
A: I’m actually on full on work mode right now. There are a lot of things i’m trying to accomplish this year so i’m setting myself up. I am very into getting morning sunlight and making sure to ground as much as possible to keep my nervous system regulated!
