These banana coconut almond butter squares are oil free, contain no refined sugars, zero flour and are the perfect afternoon or after dinner sweet treat to curb those cravings. They are also a KG’s Kitchen staple that so many of you love! The recipe is super simple too…and by the way, kids love them!
Banana Coconut Almond Butter Squares
Servings 16 squares
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas- mashed
- ½ cup smooth almond butter
- 1/8 cup maple syrup
- 1 egg or egg replacement
- ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut divided
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp Himalayan salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tsp cinnamon optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Line a 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- Using an electric mixer or a bowl combine all ingredients except for ¼ cup coconut.
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan.
- Evenly sprinkle coconut over the top and add some additional chocolate chips (I use the larger chunks).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes – or until cooked through. (check with a toothpick)
- Lift parchment paper out of the pan and let it cool for about 20 minutes. Then cut into 16 squares.
Notes
You can cut your squares larger, this is just how I make them. Like I said above, the perfect sweet treat. Life is all about balance, sweets and treats are always allowed… In moderation.
