I buy, receive and try a lot of different things in the course of a month. Probably more than most people you know and definitely more than is necessary. However, it is my job to know what’s going on in the world of wellness, beauty and fashion and I’m here for it!

We decided it was time to do a monthly review series, where I round up the things I have been gifted, purchased and tried within that month and let you know what’s worth trying and purchasing and what you should pass on. We would love your feedback on products and items you have been wanting reviewed. Please leave your suggestions in the comment section down below and we will be sure to test them out for you!

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

I have heard about this product and Paula’s Choice for years and never felt inclined to try it. When I was in Miami I picked up this exfoliant, as it is the most popular product in the PC range. I have been using it daily since, at night, after cleansing, before my serum and I love the way my skin looks. I recently went for a facial and had barely any blackheads to remove. Would recommend this for anyone with congestion, blackheads or larger pores.  I have also gone ahead and ordered a ton of other Paula’s Choice products to try, more reviews coming!

Sunday Riley Light Hearted SPF 30

I have always liked SR products, I know they have been wanting to launch an spf for a while now so I shipped this new launch to Miami so I could try it. (This SPF is not available in Canada). I should have checked the ingredients, this is both a physical and chemical sunscreen so right off the bat it is not something I would likely repurchase. The scent is reminiscent of Coppertone, it literally smells like my childhoods on the beach, and not in a good way, it has that intense SPF smell. The Packaging is terrible, so much product comes out even with the lightest squeeze. It does apply nicely on the skin but feels and smells like an old school sunscreen I wore as a kid. To put it lightly, I’m not a fan.

Le Prunier Plum Beauty Oil

Okay, I feel like I haven’t stopped talking about this product and truth be told it definitely needs its own dedicated post but I had to include it into my June reviews because I have been using it daily for the last 30+ days and I am obsessed. This product has a lot of hype around it, mainly because it is almost always sold out. It is an oil that is made with plums, it smells like almond paste and leaves skin so silky, soft and radiant. I am truly hooked and have already ordered backup bottles. I just finished my first bottle and can say this oil is incredible for overall skin tone, texture and hydration. I love using it at night after serum and before moisturizer or even as my moisturizer.

Westman Atelier Makeup

I am a fan of makeup artist, Gucci Westman’s clean makeup brand and recently purchased a few more products. Here are my reviews.

Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

I got shade, Petal. This is a simple, easy to use blush stick that can also be used on lips, eyes etc. I do like it but it’s not as creamy as I generally would be attracted to. It does go on nicely, seeps into skin well and stays on well throughout the day. I don’t know that I would repurchase as there are other cream blushes, I prefer but I am not unhappy with it.

RATING: 3/5

Lit Up Highlight Stick

I got shade Brulée. First of all, the packaging is beyond me and makes me love it right away. The product is really good, I wanted a bronzy highlight that works as a blush too. This is a really good product for that. The brulée color gives a sunkissed look, very natural. It’s not overly bright but it works for what I wanted it for. I do apply a highlighter on top! I also have the shade “Lit” which is clear and more dewy and it works really nice on top of the brulée.

RATING: 4/5

Face Trace Contour Stick

I got it in shade; Biscuit. I love a creamy bronzer, especially in stick format, because it makes it easy to apply to all the right areas to give contour and a natural glow. This product is almost grey-ish brown but applies so nicely into the skin. It really sculpts the face and doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts like other cream bronzers. I do find myself feeling like I need to reapply later in the day, which isn’t uncommon with natural makeup, but it’s not super long wear.

RATING: 3.5/5

Supergoop CC Screen SPF 50

There are so many Supergoop SPFs I would love to try but almost all of them are made with chemical filters and I truly prefer mineral filters. This product is made with 100% mineral actives while also doubling as a CC cream. I was excited to find it at Sephora in Miami and try it. Unfortunately, it really missed the mark for me. The texture is just off, it doesn’t apply nicely or smooth onto my skin. It makes me look dull and patchy and it’s pretty heavy. I am not a fan.

Biologique Recherche Creme 400 PIGM

I got this cream from Boutique Skin Envie, and I love it!  It is a concentrate of active ingredients that brightens and protects skin, while reducing the appearance of dark spots. It is specially formulated as both a preventive and corrective treatment, helping reduce the intensity of existing pigment spots and prevent the appearance of new blemishes. I love using this at night, my complexion looks so radiant in the morning. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to reduce dark spots and brighten up their complexion.

De La Heart Lymphatic Drainage Body Tool

I got this wood lymphatic drainage tool over a year ago but only recently really started committing to using it daily. This tool is super easy to use and helps reduce swelling enhances blood flow and breaks down fat and cellulite. The thing I like best is how it makes me feel when I’m sore from a workout. I like to do it first thing in the morning or at the end of the day. I use sweet almond oil or jojoba oil, start from my ankles and work my way up in upward motion, repeating the strokes about 10 times per section. Proper tutorial coming soon!

Heretic Perfumes

I got Dirty Vanilla and Dirty Coconut. I have had my eye on this brand for a while but it’s not easy to find in Canada. I ordered both of these scents and I am very pleased. The scents are sweet but woody and last nicely throughout the day. The ingredients are clean and the branding is really nicely done. I am looking forward to trying more scents from this brand. So far, the Dirty Coconut is my preferred scent.

Saie Sun Melt Cream Bronzer

As mentioned earlier, I love a cream bronzer and I am also a big fan of Saie products. I purchased their latest launch and have been really liking it. I also bought the bronzer brush to apply it. I got the lightest shade and I find it pretty dark; this product really gives you a natural, real sun kissed look. So far I am liking it but need to see if it causes breakouts as other cream bronzers have caused me to have clogged pores.
