In the fall months, I love a hot side dish at every dinner. On tonight’s menu: my mashed sweet potatoes. These are actually part of my Sweet Potato Turkey Shepherd’s pie recipe but can easily be made as a side dish to accompany many KG’s Kitchen recipes!
Sweet Potato Mash
Servings 4 servings
Ingredients
- 2 organic sweet potatoes – cleaned and quartered
- 1 tsp ghee
- 3 tbsp chicken broth
- Sea salt & pepper
- 1 tsp Montreal steak spice optional
Instructions
- In a large pot, boil water and throw in the sweet potatoes. Boil for about 20 minutes until the skin starts to separate from the potato or until a fork pierces through easily.
- Remove from the heat – skin should peel off easily.
- In a bowl or the emptied pot, add peeled sweet potatoes, ghee, chicken broth, sea salt, pepper and steak spice.
- Mash it all up! Go wild!
Notes
I use an immersion blender to puree my potatoes, but you can use a fork or potato masher or even a blender. This dish is lite, tight and easy to make.
