KG’s Favourite Cleansers

Although it may seem obvious to most it’s important that I reiterate the importance of cleansing your skin. In my opinion it is the most important step in any skincare routine and should be done morning and night. It’s the first step and therefore if you skip it, or don’t actually cleanse properly you are setting off the next steps. If your skin isn’t properly cleansed, your serums will not penetrate as deeply or effectively. In the morning I cleanse with a wash off cleanser and at night I oil or balm cleanse first, and then wash with my regular wash off cleanser. There are different cleansers for different skin types and skin concerns, most of which I have dealt with, so I have made a list of my must haves below.

Why KG Loves Keratin Treatment

If you knew me before virtually meeting me on Instagram, you know that my curls were REAL. I know it may be hard to believe, but once I had curls that could not be tamed without hours of work, no matter how hard I tried…until I discovered keratin treatments. I never thought I would be able to go in an ocean or pool or even take a shower and still be able to have manageable (straight- ish) hair without needing to get a blow dry done in a salon. It now takes me about a quarter of the time that it used to, to style my hair and I cannot thank the hairGods enough.

I truly do not remember what life was like before I started wearing sports bras. As you guys know I film in them every morning, workout in them and even wear them throughout the day. I think we can all agree that fries just seem to go with everything. With the winter coming up, I love to cook hot side dishes and these fries are a crowd pleaser. I make mine with sweet potatoes or russet potatoes depending on what I’m in the mood for. The below recipe serves 2 and works for either type of potato.

Strawberry Chia Seed Jam

Kris loves a good jam spread and it’s not always easy to find packaged jams without tons of added sugars and preservatives. When I do find better options to purchase, the taste and texture is generally not the best, so I decided to make my own! The magic ingredient here are CHIA SEEDS. Chia seeds thicken the jam, perfectly giving the jam that “jam” texture. I sweetened mine, but you can also not sweeten yours at all since the fruits generally are pretty sweet on their own… Especially strawberries.

Newsflash: I am a self-proclaimed skincare junkie. Anyone who knows me in real life or follows me can vouch, I am one with my skin. How can I preach the importance of skincare, without teaching the basics, which is why I am going to break down my top 6 steps. Knowing the proper steps and order of the process to use your products, is almost more important than the products themselves. We spend so much of our hard earned money of these fancy, skin changing products but if we aren’t using them properly then what’s the point?! ????????‍ An easy way to think of the correct order is by going from lightest weight to heaviest. I can’t think of a better way to kick off this beauty section, can you?

Yellow & Orange Fruit Morning Smoothie

For the past 6 months I have been hooked on this or a variation of this smoothie for my daily breakfast. Every day until noon, I eat fruit, more specifically orange and yellow fruits (minus citrus and lemon) all blended together. Since doing this I have noticed a crazy change in my energy levels and digestion.

I am known for my OCD pantry organization. Being someone who is overly organized in most aspects of their life, my home, mainly my pantry would be no different. In my previous home, my pantry shelves were pretty narrow and I knew that if I left everything loose, every time I went to grab something other things would fall, and it would drive me insane. I found these amazing Clear Binz and decided to categorize everything by commodity (inspired by The Home Edit) and put things into their own bins and labelled them.
