Confession: I love an ooey-gooey Rice Krispy square. A childhood fave for most, myself included, this snack is an addiction, once I start, I just can’t stop, thankfully my sister-in-law, Tasia sent me this reformed recipe that is a little bit healthier.
Tasia’s Healthier Rice Krispy Treats
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 1.5 packs vegan marshmallows
- 6 cups brown Rice Krispies puffs
Instructions
- Heat up a large pot on low heat and add in the ghee. Let it sit until all of the ghee is melted.
- Still on low heat, add in marshmallows and stir it all around. Let it sit until the marshmallows melt together with the ghee.
- Once combined remove from heat and stir in brown Rice Krispies and coat evenly.
- In a pan coated with cooking spray, use a spatula or your hands to evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. I use Le Creuset bakeware.
- Let them cool down and cut into 2-inch squares and add any garnish of your choice.
Notes
These came out super delicious! I added some crushed-up candy cane, but you can add in chocolate chips, sprinkles, anything works.
