Brain fog has been the issue on and affecting so many people’s minds for the last year or so. Many still suffer with it post Covid, even many months after recovering, the endless cold and flus going around and holiday burnout approaching. Brain fog has been a big complaint and getting back proper cognitive function is top priority.

According to Harvard Medical School, “Brain fog is not a medical or scientific term,” and “we all experience this feeling [of not being our sharpest] from time to time.” Rather than a rigid diagnosis, brain fog can be the result of overworking, too much screen time or stress, or an added side effect of other illnesses.

Regardless of why we are feeling this way, there are ways to boost the system and restore the mind and memory.

Common symptoms of brain fog include:

  • Difficulty focusing or concentrating for extended periods of time
  • Problems with short-term memory
  • Low mental energy or diminished physical vitality
  • Trouble multitasking or being productive
  • Reduced capacity for learning or absorbing information
  • Confusion or other signs that cognition is impaired
  • Light-headed, “cloudy”, or dizzy feelings
  • Issues with mood (e.g., feeling depressed, anxious, irritable, etc.)
  • Decline in general cognitive abilities.

Here are some of our top tips to help fight brain fog and get you back to feeling your full dazzling self before the start of a new year.

Practice good sleep hygiene: Turn off your phone 1 hour before bed, and onto airplane mode. Find a wind down routine that, if possible, doesn’t contain blue light, as that can impair restful sleep. Upon rising in the morning try to get outside and see daylight, this will help your circadian rhythm and allow you to sleep better and deeper.

There is nothing more important for brain function than getting adequate sleep and it’s important for mood, clarity and full body function. No matter how many herbal remedies you take to combat brain fog, if you aren’t getting proper sleep nothing will help.

It goes without saying that if you are recovering from any illness or have been on the verge of a burnout/ overdoing it day to day with work and life stresses you need to be eating well and moving your body. Food is fuel, if you fuel yourself with crap and live a sedentary lifestyle, you will likely feel like crap too! If you fuel yourself with REAL, nutritious foods, filled with vitamins, enzymes and nutrients you will feel full of vitality and have the proper tools to combat illness, stress etc…

We can really go off here, and suggest many solutions that will help boost your cognitive function but that would be overwhelming and we are trying to help you alleviate mental stress not add to it.

There are 3 things we strongly suggest adding to your “day to day”.

Golden Mind stimulates peak mental performance and protects against age-related cognitive decline. This formula supports intestinal health and strengthens the gut-brain axis by enhancing communication between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. This easy to take supplement contains a blend of brain herbs and foods that will boost cognitive function, increase focus and alertness and calm the nervous system.

Magnesium L-Threonate was developed by a team of scientists at MIT which has been shown to increase brain magnesium levels much higher than any other form of magnesium. Magnesium is an essential mineral that is required for 80% of the body’s metabolic functions. In the United States, approximately 65% of all adults are magnesium deficient.  Magnesium deficiency contributes to many chronic conditions including heart disease and loss of cognitive function.

This paired with Golden Mind (in the AM) is a power combination for the mind that will set you up for the day. This will help boost brain power, balance mood and calm the central nervous system while improving memory.

A supreme tonic containing adaptogenic powerhouses traditionally used as sustainable energizers amongst many cultures around the world. Each source is carefully selected to provide you a sustainable form of energy, without the mishaps of caffeinated side effects or adrenal collapse. Providing you a joyful and awake approach to a focused and energized state of being.  Add this to a little bit of water 2-3 times a day, you will notice an increase in your energy levels while assisting your adrenals.
