Healthier Candied Almonds

Katherine has been making these candied almonds with her mom since she was a kid. She decided to try it out with coconut sugar to make a healthier version. It’s not as grainy as the original with white sugar but they’re still very tasty. 

Healthier Candied Almonds

Course Dessert
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups almonds not blanched

Instructions

  • Combine water, coconut sugar and cinnamon in saucepan.
  • Cook almonds in liquid on medium heat until all liquid is evaporated.
  • Spread on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with a little more coconut sugar.
  • Place under the broiler for a few more minutes.

 

These also make a great hostess gift! Find a cute jar or tin, place a doily on the bottom and fill with candied almonds.
