Recently, Katherine tried Ear Candling for the first time and documented her experience. She was amazed at what came out of her ears and found it to be a painless, easy and even relaxing experience. So, what’s the deal with ear candling? We’re going to deep dive and let you know the details.
Ear candles are hollow cones made of fabric covered in paraffin wax, beeswax, or soy wax. Most ear candles are about a foot in length. The pointed end of the candle is placed in your ear. The slightly wider end is lit. The warmth and smoke created by the flame creates a suction like effect and pulls the earwax and other impurities out of the ear canal and into the hollow candle.
The treatment goes as follows, you lie on your side with one ear facing down. The practitioner inserts the pointed end of the candle into the hole of the ear that’s facing up and adjusts it to create a seal. Katherine had this done by Tamara, otherwise known as Mama Oracle, she placed a piece of paper in the center of the candle. This protects the person from the flame or in case any dripping wax falls.
Other than pulling out wax from the ear here are some of the believed benefits.
- earwax buildup
- earaches
- swimmer’s ear or ear infections
- Ringing in the ears
- hearing problems
- sinus infections or other sinus conditions
- symptoms of a cold or the flu
- sore throat
- vertigo or dizziness
- stress and tension
Once the treatment is over (about 15 minutes on each ear), the practitioner will cut open the cone area and show you what came out. In Katherine’s case there was A LOT of wax and white powder looking stuff, that she was told is leftover virus and bacteria. Interestingly, Katherine had a lot of ear infections as a kid and had an abundance of both wax and bacteria that came out. She even repeated the procedure on the right ear for a second time and even more came out!
Many in the allopathic medical community believe this treatment to be useless and even claim it’s dangerous. We are just here laying out the way it works. Check out our IG to see Katherine’s video of the experience.
