We all want healthy hair that looks and feels amazing but we also do a ton of different things to our hair that causes it to get damaged. Bleaching, dying, high heat amongst other things all cause our hair distress and we all want a quick fix. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a quick fix but there are product lines that can help reduce damage and speed up repair. Olaplex is one of those brands.
Olaplex became popular after Kim Kardashian dyed her infamous dark hair platinum blonde. Everyone and their sister had to know how she was able to go from such a dark brown to such a light blonde and then back to brown without all her hair falling out. Answer: Olaplex! For years, Olaplex was used only by hairdressers and in salons. Their No 1 and No 2 products are added to bleach and help protect the hair from too much damage when bleaching. These products are used in many high-end salons for an additional charge. The first product that was available for purchase by the public was No 3. A personal favorite of Katherine’s, she has raved about this treatment for years. Since then, Olaplex has expanded their home line and we are fans! See below what we love about the products we use!
NO 3
HAIR PERFECTOR
This is the original and the best strengthening treatment there is. We don’t recommend using this more than once a week because strengthening products can sometimes make your hair feel coarse. Katherine likes to use this 1-2 times a month. This product is best used on damp hair BEFORE shampoo. Wet your hair, towel dry, apply the No 3, comb through. Allow to process 20-30 minutes and then wash out with shampoo and conditioner. This is great to maintain the strength of the hair!
NO 4 & NO 5
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER:
This shampoo and conditioner is super hydrating and repairs broken and damaged hair. It leaves hair feeling clean, silky and moisturized. This is one of our favorites and go-to duo for all hair types. Even oilier hair types can benefit from these products as they don’t leave a residue on the hair.
NO 6
STYLING CREAM
This is an awesome leave in styling cream for thicker and dryer hair types. We do not recommend this for thinner hair or oily hair as it can weigh down the hair and cause it to feel greasy quickly. This is a great air dry product, it repairs the hair while also helping reduce frizz and protect from heat and sun! It also dries the hair quickly and leaves your natural hair looking flawless.
NO 7
BONDING OIL
This is Olaplex’s latest release and we are in love! This is a dry oil and like everything in the Olaplex range helps keep hair nice and healthy. This product is great for flyways, broken hair and frizz control. A little drop does the trick so this bottle actually lasts longer than you’d expect.
If you are experiencing breakage, damage and need a fresh start with a new product line we highly recommend trying Olaplex. Especially good for blondes and people with keratin treated hair as all products are color safe and sulfate free!
