When I was having digestive issues, in all of my research, I was constantly seeing apple cider vinegar. It was actually everywhere… Seems like this stuff is the cure for everything.

Initially, I started taking it thinking it would help me lose water weight and de-bloat me. I would take it 30 minutes before each meal because I read that online somewhere and thought it couldn’t hurt. I noticed how great my digestion was after taking it and decided to investigate more. Fast forward 6 years and apple cider vinegar, also referred to by me as ACV, is part of my daily routine. After learning more about it, I learnt that it’s great for detoxification, digestion, skin, weight loss and overall good health. From fuelling energy to helping with  digestion, the benefits of apple cider vinegar come from it’s powerful healing compounds, which include, acetic acid, potassium, magnesium, probiotics and enzymes.

Acetic acid has the ability to kill dangerous “bad” bacteria and at the same time, foster the growth of beneficial “good” bacteria. Since acetic acid kills unwanted bacteria when it comes into contact with it, it essentially acts as a nature’s antibiotic. This means apple cider vinegar naturally provides numerous benefits related to skin, digestion and immunity health without any side effects.

Benefits to ACV:

  • Balances the body’s ph
  • Stimulates cardiovascular stimulation
  • Helps drain the lymphatic system
  • Contains probiotics
  • Helps kill candida in body
  • Weight loss
  • Metabolism – the acetic acid helps reduce body fat
  • Reduces sugar cravings
  • Can be used to clean house 50/50 with water
  • Helps with allergies – breaks up mucus in the body
  • Natural remedy to prevent illness
  • Can help cure sore throats and colds
  • Loaded with vitamins and probiotics

I really rely on ACV for numerous things in my diet, I mean, I even soak my fruits and veggies in it and use it in most of my salad dressings, head over to the recipes page for more info. I mean… ACV can EVEN help cure a hangover.

Now… Let’s keep it real. I know the taste of ACV can be really harsh for some. My tip to take it is to mix a tbsp into a ¼ cup of apple cider juice (pure apple juice with no additives). This really helps cut the taste.

So when is the best time to take ACV? That’s really up to you. If you are taking it for weight loss reasons, I suggest taking 20-30 minutes before a meal to help with the absorption of nutrients and to help cut appetite a bit. I recommend trying it at a few different times as well, to see which works best for your body. At one point I was adding it into my lemon water every morning and then I switched to before bed. Every BODY is different.

  1. Would it be okay to have both the gummies and a shot of the liquid ACV in a day? Or do you recommend just doing one or the other?
