We did a round up of the GLW Team’s currently summer favorites. All things we’ve been loving so far!

Katherine’s Summer Favorites

Cream bronzer – been loving a cream bronzer on my contour areas to give me a natural bronzy glow. I find it wears nicer in the heat and looks like a real tan. My favorite has been the Fenty Beauty in Hunnie Glaze.

Josie Maran Pink Algae Retinol– I began using this at the end of May and have used it all summer and am in disbelief at how great this serum has been for me. During the summer months I tend to break out easily and I believe this serum helped me so much!

Sweat shorts- I am obviously a big fan of sweatpants so I was thrilled when sweat shorts became a trend. I purchased many pairs and often with a matching t-shirt or sweatshirt and plan to wear in my house during the colder months as well!  My favorite brands are Pangaia and Stateline.

Straight or wide leg jeans-  The 90s are back and I am into it. I have been really into straight or wider legged denim, rather than skinny cuts. I find the style looks so fresh and I love the look. I have gotten some great pairs from Zara, Agolde and Dynamite.

Breaking the habit of being yourself by Joe Dispenza- I have been reading this book and it is teaching me how to reprogram my thoughts and rewire my subconscious mind. I am only 1/3 of the way through but I am already seeing positive changes.

Below Deck Mediterranean, Real housewives of NYC and Beverly Hills- These shows are my guilty pleasure and allow me to literally not think and laugh. They actually help me unwind.

GLW Style Mexican Street Corn- I have been obsessed with making this lately! It really hits the spot and has become a go to for us! Corn is only in season towards the middle to end of summer and we are taking full advantage.

Guacamole w/ Veggies- I have been loving my homemade guacamole this summer. I often eat it with roasted sweet potato or even just some raw fresh veggies. It really hits the spot and fills me up!

Emma’s Summer Favorites

Grey’s Anatomy – I watched this when it was live on tv but never took the time to rewatch it until now. I forgot how powerful this show is. Every second episode I’m balling. Running out of tissues! The dangerous thing about Netflix, yes I’m still watching, don’t judge me! (It’s 2am on a Tuesday and I have just watched all of season 5, on to season 6!)

Gossip Girl – I also rewatched this whole series before starting Grey’s, GG is always the best. Made me remember my love for headbands.

Limlim Head Bands – Perfect addition to any outfit. Help me channel my inner Blair Waldorf.

Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion – I got this in one of my FabFitFun subscription boxes and I’m so happy I did. I use this first thing in the morning. It’s so light and leaves my skin feeling very hydrated and soft.

BBQ Vegetables – Peppers, eggplant, zucchini (absolute best). Barbecuing these are my favorite thing about summer. I have them with almost every meal.

Tomato Salad – My dad makes the ultimate best tomato salad. He uses all ingredients from his garden. No matter how many times I try to replicate it, I can never get it exactly the same as his. Every time I go to my parent’s house for dinner in the summer, I ask for his tomato salad.

Books – I read so many books every month that it’s hard to narrow down just one or two. The ones that I’ve read recently and have enjoyed are This Is Not a Fashion Story by Danielle Bernstein. Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. The Arrangement by Robyn Harding

Ana’s Summer Favorites
Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara – I recently received this mascara as part of a PR package from Honest Beauty and let me tell you… it did not disappoint. This mascara works SO well. It comes with a primer that you can apply before your mascara and it makes your lashes so long and without any clumps.
Do You Even Impact Seamless – Not only does Do You Even make the best workout clothes ever (in my opinion), they have the cutest colours too and their leggings are SQUAT proof meaning they’ll never ride down.
101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think – I actually stumbled upon this book while I was browsing for quotes on Instagram. I kept seeing Brianna Wiest’s name all over Pinterest and then I found her book. 101 Essays is a collection of Brianna’s deeply moving and philosophical writing. It’s a compilation of her published work which will make you think and reflect on your own life. It’s SO good!
Cashew Dip – Ok, I’ll be honest, this isn’t my recipe. A friend of mine shared it with me and it was SO good, I knew I had to include it in this roundup.
Here is everything you need:
    • 1 1/2 cup cashews
    • 1/2 cup of water
    • 4 tbsp nutritional yeast
    • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • 1 garlic clove
    • 1/2 tsp salt
To make the dip, you have to soak the cashews for about 6hrs. You can soak them in the morning and by dinner time, they should be ready to go. Using a food processor, blend all of the ingredients and voila! You have the most amazing, healthy, vegan dip that’s full of protein and healthy fats!
